Great soldier, part of the Incredible Patriots, volunteering to make the ultimate sacrifice for his country. A soldier who embodied the intense loyalty and fighting spirit of the 101st Airborne. He stopped the Nazi's, bringing freedom to Bastogne, during the Battle of the Bulge and throughout Western Europe. His generation instilled the worldwide liberty and justice, the freedom we enjoy today.
God Rest your soul.

I first met Bill after the publication of Band of Brothers and the death of my father. I am the proud son of a member of the 101st Airborne. My Dad jumped on D Day, in Holland and was at the Bulge. He didn't say much about it, but Bill was more than gracious in filling in the gaps for me. I will always treasure the memory of our friendship. It was an honor to have known him as I did. Godspeed, my friend.
