Henrietta "Honey" Scott

1942 - 2025

Henrietta "Honey" Barron Scott, age 83 of Montclair, VA, died on November 23, 2025, at her home in Montclair, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Eugene Barron, Jr., and Margaret Carleton Reeves Barron, and by her grandson, Keith Barron Scott, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles Paul Scott, two daughters, Elizabeth "Elise" Scott Kepus (Mario) of Glen Allen, VA, and Clare Barron Scott Falcone (Jake) of Montclair, VA, and two sons, Dr. Charles Paul Scott Jr. (Jeff) of Armonk, NY, and Keith Barron Scott (Terri) of Fredericksburg, VA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Katherine Reeves Falcone, Joseph William Falcone, Caroline Alyssa Scott, Emily Elizabeth Scott, Breck Wilson Kepus, Alexander Benjamin Scott, Melynda Frances Scott, and Svea Elise Scott, and four brothers, Frank Eugene Barron III, Keith Reeves Barron, and David Henry Barron of Columbia, SC, and Henry "Pat" Trott Barron of Ironton, OH.

Mrs. Scott grew up in the Carolinas and attended the University of South Carolina where she pledged Tri Delta Sorority. She graduated with highest honors from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Charlotte, NC, where she was president of the student body and was selected as Most Outstanding Student by the Faculty. She practiced nursing for several years before having her children and, after they were grown, she worked as a home-health case manager before retiring.

Mrs. Scott was a professed member, and a charter member, of the Secular Franciscan Order at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Triangle, VA, where she was a Eucharistic Minister for more than 25 years. She was also a charter member of the Many Members One Body support group and a member of the Respect Life group. For many years she took communion to shut-in parishioners, visited church members in hospitals and nursing homes, and was often asked by the pastor to talk to members with various needs. She was also a Girl Scout leader and a Religious Education teacher when her children were young. After many Masses that Mrs. Scott attended, she would look around the church and identify a parishioner in need of a kind word. She would walk up to them and ask if they were okay, which sometimes led to a lengthy conversation, often finished outside when the next Mass began, and followed up on later.

At the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Frankfort, KY, prior to moving to Virginia in 1980, Mrs. Scott was a charter member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society chapter, and founder of the Frankfort Right to Life group for which she was made a "Kentucky Colonel" by the Governor. She was also a member of the Colonial Dames of America, the Bill of Rights Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Descendants of the Signers of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, and the Huguenot Society of America.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church on December 18, 2025 at 11:00am, followed by burial in the Quantico Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School in Triangle, VA, or to the Children's Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University in memory of her grandson, Keith Barron Scott, Jr.
