John was the epitome of a leader in the USMC. He encouraged me to become a Combat Engineer, a brief career that I cherished and are most proud of, serving both overseas and in the US.
I later became a Special Agent Bomb Technician in the FBI. I often thought of him and his mentoring and tried to emulate that and pass it on to the next generation. He will be truly missed.

Major Fasulo was a Captain when I met him as a student at The Basic School in 1972. He was a dynamic instructor whom the students loved. He was made to teach his Engineering lesson towards the end of the program because if he did it at the beginnings all the students wanted to become engineering. A friendly, warm and very knowledgeable Marine who made learning fun.

Then-Capt. Fasulo was likely the most admired TBS instructor while my company went through. He was a model for what a Marine officer should be; competant, confident, knowledgeable, and a role model to emulate. He was a very positive influence to many Marines.

John Fasulo was a remarkable Marine -- it is a privilege to call Major Fasulo a friend. He left his mark wherever he served -- two careers worth!
His positive leadership at the Basic School with lieutenants just starting their service was in itself noteworthy. His continued decades of service, pursuing improvements in mine warfare and explosive training has made our country stronger and safer. At Ease Marine, you have done well!

Rest easy John ! I remember the times at Fredericksburg pub that I met you and Frank Skinner out for "chow" and ended up shutting the place down and nights of amazing USMC EOD history and I´m sure a lot of bull crap mixed in !!

I too worked with John many times over my EOD Career in the Marine Corps, John was always happy to share his vast knowledge of explosives and or landmines. We had many conversations on the ranges at Quantico and Ft. AP Hill. He was always happy to share delicious desserts that his wife and daughter made. Many Soldiers, Sailors, Airman, and Marines are alive today because of your hard work and dedication. Rest in Peace John, until we meet again on Gods demo range. Semper Fi!!!! Major "Boom Boom" Fasulo taught demolitions to my TBS class in 1976 and I immediately became interested in becoming a Combat Engineer. His enthusiasm and esprit de corps set him head and shoulders above his peers. Over the years we became close friends. I am eternally grateful for his mentoring and guidance, always extending encouragement. He inspired me to levels that I never knew I could achieve. Starting from his TBS class, I enjoyed a memorable and rewarding Marine Corps career. RIP my Brother Marine. Joe Musca, Colonel, USMC (Ret.)

I was a frequent student of Maj Fasulo demo class throughout my career in the Corps. My platoon listened to the towers fall on September 11th from his bleachers before being recalled to Lejeune. RIP Major, you are a legend among Combat Engineers. Semper Fidelis.
