Daniel Sprague Obituary
Daniel Glen Sprague passed away at his home in Bishop, CA, on Thursday morning, October 9, 2025. His absence leaves a void in the lives of his family and in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
Born on June 25, 1962, in Spokane, WA, to Danny and Kay Sprague, Daniel embarked on a life defined by vibrant creativity and an insatiable curiosity for the world around him. He wasn't merely interested in various pursuits; he truly immersed himself, dedicating his time to bringing beauty and expression into existence. Whether it was through the strokes of his paintbrushes, the careful shaping of clay in his sculpting, or the melodies he coaxed from his guitar and even the commanding sounds of his bagpipes, Daniel's spirit found its truest voice in art.
Beyond his artistic endeavors, Daniel possessed a sharp wit and an engaging intellect. He cherished the lively exchange of ideas, often delighting in spirited discussions with friends and family on topics ranging from social dynamics to political philosophies and economic theories. These banters were not just debates for him; they were opportunities for connection and shared understanding, reflecting his deep value for human interaction.
Family and friendship were the cornerstones of Daniel's life. He was a steadfast pillar of support for our mother, Kay, demonstrating unwavering devotion, especially in the years following our father's passing over five years ago. Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Danny D. Sprague; his paternal grandparents, Jean L. Sprague and Edwin A. Sprague; and his maternal grandparents, Helen O. Winks and Loren G. Winks.
He is survived by our dear mother, Kay Sprague; his brother, Brian Sprague, and sister-in-law, Tracy Sprague, of Torrance, CA; and sister, Valerie Behrendt, and brother-in-law, Bob Behrendt, in Bishop, CA.
