David Savage Obituary

David Arnold Savage passed away at his home in Big Pine, CA on Friday, February 12, 2021. He was born on August 18, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA to parents George and Helen Savage. He was the youngest of six children. He grew up in Agua Dulce, CA among the Vasquez Rocks and attended Palmdale High School. David married Nancy Louise Neuner in 1968. They were blessed with daughters Joy, Cindy and Laura. He worked for Los Angeles County as the Head of Maintenance for Los Angeles Unified School District for 26 years. They lived in the Santa Clarita Valley for over 40 years. In 2007, they moved to Big Pine, CA to enjoy retirement and to be close to family. David truly loved music and could dance impressively to the rhythm of Motown. He was an avid baseball fan. His favorite baseball team was the Angels. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for his family and community. He was very involved with his grandchildren's school activities and sports as well. David worked several community outreach programs over the years helping to provide clothes and food to the less fortunate. He loved his Catholic church family and was an a devout Christian man. He enjoyed camping and fishing in the June lake loop very much. Rock Creek Lake was a favorite spot of his. He also had a passion for recycling and gardening.
David is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Savage of Big Pine, CA; daughter Joy Savage and grandson's Siraze Bawa and Dylan Savage Maunder of Queensland, Australia; daughter Cindy Truelsen, son-in-law Eric Truelsen and grandchildren Ben, Cody and Alyssa Truelsen of Big Pine, CA; daughter Laura Savage and granddaughter Whitney Yoder of Fulton, MS; sister Penny Wharton of Bellingham, WA and many nieces and nephews.
A private Catholic mass will be held in his honor at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Bishop, CA. David

To my beautiful Daddy "David Arnold savage" Every second every minute and every hour I have no words to describe how how to live without you. But all I know was your are my hero you are my everything my world. Whitney and I we love and miss you so much. Your the best father to me, Cindy and Joy we could ever ask for. We where truly blessed to have you Dad. I was trying blessed to have you in my life for 44 years and I will never forget it. There's not a minute that goes by that I don't think you or the wonderful memories we had together. Especially music and dancing and laughing, fishing, camping and going to the beach and you taking me to McDonald's every day after school. I promise you Daddy I will fight for my Children Benjamin, Alyssa and Whitney and mom! I know you are looking down and always watching over us your the best guardian angel I could ever ask for. Reading the Obituary again reminds me what a kind man with a wonderful smile. I love the fact that he and Nancy were very active in the community of Big Pine - I have no words for the loss the Community feels and Nancy is experiencing. Hugs to Nancy and the family.
