Lucile Mary Chambers, loving Mother, Grandmother, and friend to many, went home to be with our Lord on March 12, 2021 in Reno, NV at the age of 97.
Lucile was born December 14 in Heber, CA to Guy and Mary Kissee. Lucile was the youngest of 13 children. Lucile moved to Lone Pine, CA in 1951 where she started working for her bother Clyde Powell at the Frontier Motel. Lucile married Del Chambers December 1953.
Lucile worked at the CPS store with her husband Del. Once the store was sold, Lucile worked for Inyo County as the Lone Pine Senior Center Coordinator for 20 years.
Lucile was very active through the years in many community organizations. She was a Girl Scout Leader, President of the PTA, Sunday School teacher and taught craft classes at the Lone Pine Nazarene Church. Lucile was the president of the local AARP chapter 183 and president of a ladies auxiliary. She taught many craft and sewing classes in her home and continued to make her own greeting and holiday cards.
Lucile created magic for the senior citizens when she hosted many parties including a Luau, Christmas parties, Easter parties, and dressed up for the Halloween parties. Each one was a special event and enjoyed by all who would attend.
