Lyn Taylor was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico and passed away peacefully at home in Bishop on Friday, November 12, 2021. Her parents, Maurice and Marceil Taylor, owned and operated a print shop in Seton Village, New Mexico, and printed books for Ernest Thompson Seton. When Lyn was 5 years old, the family moved to Burbank, CA, where her father went to work for Lockheed. When Lyn was 18 years old, she traveled by bus around the continental United States visiting every state capitol. In the late 1950's, she joined the Burbank Water Ski Club, where she met Virgil Stearns. They were married in September, 1960, and had 2 children; Kevin Stearns of Austin, TX, and Cori Stearns of Bishop, CA. Lyn worked for an orthopedic surgeon in Burbank for many years and later received a law degree, passing the California State Bar in 1976. She practiced probate law in Glendale, CA until her retirement in 1995. In 2012, Lyn moved to Bishop to be closer to her daughter. In 2017, she moved to Austin, Texas, for a year to spend time with her son. Lyn was a quiet, kind and compassionate person. She appreciated the acquaintances she made here in Bishop and often asked about them after she stopped driving in 2020. She is survived by her 2 children, Kevin and Cori. Services will be planned for a later date.
