Marilyn Kay Dell

1945 - 2024

Marilyn Kay Dell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in her daughter's home in Reedley, California, on December 4, 2024, at the age of 79.
Born on September 22, 1945, at Greenville Army Base in South Carolina, Marilyn grew up in Burbank, California, as the cherished daughter of Joseph Blaska and Kathleen Wallace (Blaska). She is survived by her two loving sisters, Sandra Nicassio of Pendleton, Oregon, and Joann Blaska of Modesto, California.
In her early years, Marilyn married the love of her life, William Dell. Together, they moved from the San Fernando Valley to Lone Pine, California, where they raised their three children and created a lifetime of memories during their 49 years of marriage. Marilyn's family includes her son Brian Hunicke, his wife Megan, and their daughter Merrin of Spanaway, Washington; her daughter Brooke Richardson and her children Riley, Daniel, and Bree of Reedley, California; and her son Joe Dell, his wife Alissa, and their children Barrett, Morgan, and Malena of Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
Marilyn embodied grace, kindness, and community spirit. She dedicated herself to countless volunteer efforts, including the PTA, Lone Pine High School Boosters, Little League Baseball, and the Lone Pine Film Festival. Marilyn also worked at Lone Pine Gas, ESIA, and the old Lone Pine Sanatorium, leaving a lasting impact on her community.
Marilyn's warmth and humor touched everyone she met. Whether she was embracing Marines at the local gas station causing them to cry when she hugged them as they headed to Pickle Meadows or enjoying gambling in Independence or Bishop, Marilyn lived with a heart full of joy and generosity.
Marilyn's unwavering love and laughter will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
