David W. Morgan

1941 - 2022

A loving father and husband, David W. Morgan, passed away on Oct. 24, 2022, surrounded by family in his Fort Worth, Texas home.
David was born Nov. 13, 1941, to John W. Morgan and Mildred Morgan (Blackburn) in Pittsburgh, Pa. As a young boy, his family moved to Winter Park, Fla. where he graduated high school (1959). Next, he attended the United States Air Force Academy, where he earned his bachelor's degree (1963).
Commissioned and assigned to Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda, as a combat B-52 pilot, David met the love of his life, Mary Lou Morgan (Mitchell), a local schoolteacher. They married in 1966 and after several military assignments together, he transitioned from active duty to the Pittsburgh Air National Guard, while simultaneously working for Allegheny Airlines/US Airways.
David retired from the military in 1991 and US Airways in 1997. In 2003, he co-founded Phoenix Composite Solutions in Oscoda. He retired "for real" in 2008 and immersed himself in the Rotary Club of Oscoda for several years before relocating to Fort Worth, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joyce Casperson. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, and his three children, Matthew C. Morgan and his wife Laura of Keller, Texas and their three children Brooke, Luke and Blake; Tracy M. Morgan of Milford, Del.; as well as Michael T. Morgan and his wife, Tiffany of Kirkwood, Mo. and their two children Connor and Sarah. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, David Casperson, his nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, you may send a donation to the charity of your choice on David's behalf.
