Elaine Clark Obituary

Elaine Doris (Hofacer) Clark was born on Dec. 22, 1934 in Chesaning to parents Herman and Clara (Pringle) Hofacer. Elaine passed away peacefully on Dec. 27, 2022 in Tawas City, at the age of 88 years.
Elaine was a lifelong Michigander and attended Oscoda Area Schools. She worked at Si and Gert's, her uncle and aunt's restaurant and held many positions there.
She met her husband, Donald F. Clark, in 1950 and they married in 1952. They had three children, Debbie, Larry and Donald L. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herm and Clara; her husband, Don F.; her daughter, Debbie; her sons, Larry and Donnie; her brothers, Giles C. Hofacer Sr., and Howard Hofacer; and sisters, Vivian Hofacer, Shirley (Hofacer) Stewart, and Wanda (Hofacer) Eberhardt. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Lola M. Hofacer; and many nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews.
Elaine loved to bowl, play pool, sew, crochet, and do all kinds of arts and crafts. She had been a member of the Auxiliary Post No. 274 at the American Legion in Oscoda for years and was still a member at the time of her passing.
One of the greatest things about Elaine was her "sense of humor." She had a way of making you laugh at some of the simplest things. She loved her family and part of that family were her dogs. They were her companions during good times and bad.
For those who knew Elaine, she carried a strength and courage within her that many were not aware of. Her losses throughout her life were many – however, she faced them with a wisdom and grace that will be a part of her legacy now and throughout all time.
Per Elaine's request, there will not be a service/memorial held. For those who would like to do something in honor of her memory, please make a contribution to your local humane society. As stated, she loved her dogs, they were her solace and her companions throughout her life. Her family appreciates the many people for their support through this difficult time.
