Eric Rickelmann Obituary
Born March 27, 1952, to Richard and Barbara (Buehler) Rickelmann in Ann Arbor, he was raised in Ypsilanti and attended St. John the Baptist School. On May 20, 1972, he married Michele Boik in Ypsilanti.
Eric served in the U.S. Air Force as an electronics specialist. After his discharge, he worked at General Motors for several years in Ypsilanti. He earned his bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University. Eric enjoyed woodworking and building. In 1998 he moved to Harrisville, eventually building his own home. He taught industrial arts at Oscoda Schools for 22 years before retiring in 2012.
Eric is survived by his wife, Michele, a daughter, Marni Rickelmann of Ketchikan, Alaska, a son, Clint (Darah) Rickelmann of Naples, Fla., two grandchildren, Sawyer and Hudson Rickelmann, his parents, Richard and Barbara Rickelmann of Milan, a sister, Mary Ann Rickelmann of Ypsilanti, four brothers, Larry (Carolyn) of Milan, Dan (Kathi) of Ypsilanti, Doug (Connie) of Pinckney, and Gerry (Jill) of Howell, and a sister in law, Carol Rickelmann of North Port, Fla., as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dave Rickelmann.
There will be a celebration of Eric's life on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018 at the Mikado American Legion Post No. 254 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested to the Alcona Humane Society. Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home of Lincoln.
