Kathleen Fisher, a lifelong resident of Tawas City, passed away peacefully at Lakeview Manor Healthcare on Monday, Aug. 25, 2025, age 70 years.
Kathleen was born in Tawas City to the late David and Virginia (Zaharias) Fisher on Oct. 20, 1954. She graduated from Tawas Area High School with the class of 1972.
During her working profession, Kathleen was employed at Genii's Restaurant as a cook for many years. After the restaurant closed, she later went to work at Tawas Village Assisted Living as a cook, and later became employed at Neiman's grocery store.
Kathleen absolutely loved keeping active while doing a variety of crafts, going on long bike rides or walks, spending time in her beautiful garden, baking delicious meals at home, and most especially spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting and extracurricular activities, or just about anything they had going on.
Kathleen always looked forward to her many trips and visits with her sister, Margie. Whether to a doctor's appointment or out for a social meal, the two shared an inseparable bond. Kathleen was a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church in Tawas City and enjoyed worshipping with her loving and supportive church family. She will truly be missed and cherished by everyone who knew and loved her and her beautiful smile she shared with every person she met.
Kathleen is survived by her two children, Shannon Heming of East Tawas and Jerry (Trish) Heming of National City; grandchildren, Hazel Dykes, Trent, Kaitlyn and Kyleigh Heming, Blake and Emrie Bellinger; siblings, Joe (Virginia) Fisher, Jim (Cindy) Fisher, Mike Fisher, Ed Fisher, Joyce (Don) Harten, Margie Sias, Ginger Fisher, Donna (Jim) Fryman, and Dinnie Fisher; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, David and Virginia Fisher; daughter, Lisa Marie Heming; son, Joseph David Heming; and a sister, Ruth Hayes.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Tawas City with Tom King officiating. Her family will welcome friends at the church for a time of gathering that morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Kathleen will be laid to rest in the Tawas City Memory Gardens Cemetery.
