Kenneth R. Krumm Sr. passed away peacefully at home with his loving family at his side on Aug. 20, 2016.
He was born in Detroit to Maude (Rutterbush) and William Krumm on June 27, 1930. He moved to Tawas as a teenager, graduated from Tawas Area, and then joined the Army. He was a proud veteran who served during the Korean War in Germany.
Following his enlistment, Ken returned to Tawas and worked at Anderson Coach until it closed. He then became a shipping specialist at Wurtsmith Airforce Base in Oscoda until his retirement in 1989.
Ken's most fond memories were spent with his wife, Joycelyn (Seymour), children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He thoroughly enjoyed being at the family hunting camp as well as hunting, fishing and camping, too. Even to the end, Ken enjoyed his beer.
Ken is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joycelyn, "Toots"; his son, Ken Jr. and wife Sharon; his daughter, Barbara Binder and fiancé Harvey Olds; son Tim and wife Dawn; as well as his adopted children, Mary and Glen Kendall; his beloved grandchildren, Jason Binder and Alysia Stevenson, Ashley and Jessica Krumm, Christopher Krumm and fiancé Stefany, Brad and Natalie Petit, Melissa Petit, Jason Petit and fiancé Melissa; great grandchildren, Kira, Kaiden, Madilynn and Mason; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dewayne and Donna Durant; brother-in-law, Donald Seymour Jr. and Terri; sister-in-law, Judy Seymour; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, Bill; and sister-in-law, Misha.
Those desiring to make memorial contributions in Ken's honor may do so to local veteran organizations. He would be especially pleased to have all give extra hugs, kisses and time to their loved ones.
His family will welcome friends for visitation on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City. Funeral services with military honors will be on Saturday, Aug. 27 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Wallace officiating. Per his wishes, cremation will take place after the funeral and he will be laid to rest in the Tawas City Memory Gardens Cemetery at a later date. An online guest registry is available at
