Lyle Passmore Obituary

Lyle E. Passmore, age 76, Oscoda, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital, Saginaw, after a battle with lymphoma.
Lyle was born in Flint on July 17, 1940 to Lyle J. and Irene (Grill) Passmore, who preceded him in death. He grew up in Davison and was a 1959 graduate of Davison High School, he also attended Mott Community College. Lyle spent many hours working at the Passmore Market in Davison before becoming employed by General Motors-Cadillac as a supervisor for 30 years.
In his retirement, Lyle spent time working maintenance at the Sunrise RV Park in Apache Junction and Ace Hardware in Oscoda. He was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Davison, from 1976 to 1993, ordained elder and a member of Tawas Area Presbyterian Church, from 1993 to present serving as elder on the church session and chairperson of the facilities committee.
He was also a crew member on Boy Scout boat Prevailing Winds. Lyle enjoyed residing in Oscoda and wintering in Apache Junction, Ariz. for the past 26 years. He enjoyed stained glass, wood working, sailing, hunting, fishing, travel and jeep trips in the desert. Lyle enjoyed family gatherings and time with friends.
He married Sharon E. (Dixon) Passmore, the love of his life for 41 years, on Dec. 20, 1975 in Davison.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; and children, Connie (Richard) Trautman, Christopher (Andrea) Passmore, Wendy (David) Alexander, Lisa (Bryan) Tiffany, Greg Niemann and Matthew (Tami) Niemann. He had 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Irene (Stanley) Palmer; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held Nov. 30 at noon at Tawas Area Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10 a.m. to noon. Those wishing to express their condolences are encouraged to make a memorial contribution in his name to Tawas Area Presbyterian Church.
