Marilyn A. Roach

1944 - 2022

Marilyn A. Roach, age 77, a lifelong resident of the Tawas area passed away peacefully on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw.
She was born on Aug. 5, 1944 in East Tawas to the late Stanley and Grace Misener (Blust). Marilyn graduated from Tawas Area High School in 1962. She later married her high school sweetheart, Paul Roach, on May 1, 1965 in East Tawas.
Her very favorite thing to do was spend time with her family. Marilyn could be found at nearly all her grandchildren's sporting events. She was a cheerleader to all, and she will be remembered for all the positive encouragement to everyone.
Marilyn worked from 1976-2003 for what was Oscoda State Savings Bank and is now PNC bank. She began in East Tawas and later moved to the Oscoda branch where she filled many customer service roles. Marilyn was the bookkeeper for Timmy Tire for many years also.
Her caring nature led her to spend many years volunteering at the Harbor Light Pregnancy & Information Center in East Tawas. Marilyn also served on their board as the treasurer.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; two daughters, Shannon (Tim) Janis of East Tawas, and Sherrie (Brent) Barringer of East Tawas; sister, Linda Fahselt of Mikado; and her six beloved grandchildren, Olivia Janis of Essexville, Timmy (Haley) Janis of Gaylord, Brooke Barringer of Grand Rapids, Paige Barringer, Granite Barringer and Khloe Barringer of East Tawas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ardith Smith.
The family will welcome friends on Friday, April 1, from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City.
