Rebecca Busch Obituary
Born on April 22, 1982 to Vita Fileccia and Robert Busch in Tawas City, Becky's journey through life was marked by her devotion to friends and family, as well as her dedication to her career. As an adult she worked several jobs as a Jeweler at John Atencio, Escrow Assistant at First Integrity Title Company, Administrative Assistant for Atlas CPAs and Advisors PLLC, but her true passion was writing.
She was an author of two novels, Dragon Wing published in 2018 and Dark Dragon published in 2021. She graduated from Centaurus High School and studied English Literature at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Even from a young age she was always a storyteller. When she was eight years old she told her parents that she wanted to be a writer, and that Christmas she received her first typewriter. Both of her books in the Dragon Wings series have won Maincrest Media Awards. When she was not at work or writing epic novels, she enjoyed reading, hiking, watching funny movies, and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her mother, Vita Fileccia of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her father, Robert Busch, and step-mother, Anna Busch, of Tawas City; sister, Julie (Jonathan) Matthews of Golden, Colo.; brother, Michael (Jennifer) Busch of East Tawas; and step brothers, Wade Towns of East Tawas, and Matt Towns of East Tawas. She was also a beloved aunt to seven nieces and nephews.
Our family was deeply touched by the outpouring of cards, condolences, and prayers. We consider ourselves truly blessed to receive so much love and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the American Cancer Society or a cancer foundation of your choice.
A visitation will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery reception room in Wheat Ridge, Colo. on Monday, Aug. 26, from 5-7 p.m.
A final memorial and interment will be held in East Tawas at Holy Family Church, date and time to be determined.

I worked with Becky at First Integrity and she was an incredible soul, a strong and loving friend, and a source of witty comments and sharp humor that never let down. When I found out about my own brain tumor, she helped me more than anyone in my journey of healing and acceptance. She helped me work on my final project for my degree and I have the voice memo of the interview - please, reach out to me if you want the recording. I'm devastated to learn of her passing in ways that words cannot express. Becky possessed a fierceness, fire, and joy that anyone who was lucky enough to experience her presence couldn't help but be affected by her incredible spirit.

I met Becky at MDA when we were both going through cancer treatments. No matter how tough the treatments were, she always had a smile and laugh to share. We had a running joke that she was just getting "the baby stuff" after a comment some weird old man had made to her. Her attitude was and continues to be inspiration for me. Truly a bright light that will be sorely missed, but one that I am fortunate to have been able to call my friend. Tom
