Robert Gerald Roll

1935 - 2023

Robert Gerald Roll, passed away peacefully in his home in Foley, Ala. on Jan. 11, 2023 at the age of 87. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather.
Bob was born to Albert and Lucille Roll on Aug. 3, 1935 in Royal Oak. After he graduated from high school, he went into the Army to serve his country.
In the Army, Bob worked as a Crypto Technician. When he got out of the service he started working for Western Union as a repair technician for the next 32 years until his retirement in 1988.
Bob met Patricia and they were married Aug. 31, 1957 at St. Mary's in Royal Oak. They proceeded to have five children, David, Roberta, Douglas, Dale and Duane. They eventually moved to Tawas City.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Patricia J. Roll; and his son, Dale R. Roll; as well as his older brother, Albert Roll. He is also survived by many of his grandchildren, Elizabeth Reynolds, Joseph Mervyn, Nicole Palacios and her children, Samantha Imlay and her son, Megan Roll and Justin Roll. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Emily, Zachary, Hannah, Hayleigh and Jackson.
Bob was predeceased by four of his children, David Roll, Roberta Mervyn, Douglas Roll and Duane Roll.
Bob will be buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Tawas City.
