Robert Werth Obituary

Robert Werth, 87, passed away on Oct. 16, 2024. He was a beloved father, husband, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Born on Sept. 26, 1937 in Alpena, Bob graduated from Tawas Area High School in 1955. Throughout his career he was known for his hard work, dedication, and kindness by always helping others.
He was the Plant Superintendent at Tawas Industries until 1988. He then worked for John Henry Excavating before becoming the Tawas City Department of Public Works Director until he retired in 2002. Also, Bob was a Tawas City Volunteer Firefighter for 25 years.
But more than anything, Bob loved spending time with his family, bowling on Freels' Market Team, and spending time at his hunting camp.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Judy, of nearly 67 years; his children, Melanie (Jim) McCarthy, Linda Huss, Bob (Dawn) Werth; and grandson, Andrew Werth. There are also many nephews, nieces and friends. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held for family and friends on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Tawas City Buresh Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., with the funeral immediately following.
The family appreciates all the care and support Robert received from Dr. VanderVeen and Compassus Hospice throughout this process. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Compassus Hospice, 3217 M-55 Suite B, West Branch, MI 48661, which provided excellent care.
