Ronald Tomasin Obituary

Ronald "Ron" John Tomasin, age 75, of Oscoda, formerly of the metro Detroit area, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022 at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital in Tawas City.
He was born on April 11, 1946 in Detroit to the late Anton J. and Emily (Karowczyk) Tomasin. Ron attended Lawrence Technical University and also proudly served in the United States Army in Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. He was a member of the American Legion and the K of C.
Over the years, Ron co-owned a tool & die company with his father, was a car salesman for Ford and also co-owned Chum's Bar and Restaurant in East Tawas.
Ron married Cynthia J. (Bradbury) Markey on Aug. 21, 2015 in Oscoda. Ron absolutely loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time cooking and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia; children, Jessica Tomasin of North Carolina, Jason Tomasin of North Carolina, Vicky (Craig) Stepaniak of Alpena, and Alex (Nicole) Markey of Tawas; brothers, Anton Tomasin of Oakland, and Dennis Tomasin of Madison Heights; sister, Darlene Boutwell of South Lyon; grandchildren, Brendan and Tyler Stepaniak of Alpena, Owen, Danica and Lincoln Markey of Tawas; 15 nieces and nephews; eight great nieces and nephews and eight great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by many aunts and uncles.
