Stephen Westphal Obituary
He was born on Dec. 29, 1947, in Marysville, Calif., to Shelby and Helen (nee Pearson) Westphal. Stephen retired as a senior master sergeant after 26 years of service with the U.S. Air Force. During this time, he received numerous decorations and awards.
He was a member of the Oscoda VFW and the Mikado American Legion. Stephen enjoyed creating steel artwork and making handmade canons, which he would fire off over the Fourth of July every year.
He is survived by his brother, Donald Westphal, and his sister, Janice Beatty, both of California; and many nieces and nephews. Stephen is also survived by Eloise J. Harlan, Lori Passeno, Rick Shreve and many other special friends.
A memorial service will be held on Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. at the Oscoda VFW Post No. 3735. Final resting place to be in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Buresh-Bennett Funeral Homes, Inc. in Oscoda.
