Thomas Harrison Earegood, age 74, of National City, passed away peacefully May 13, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Thomas was born on March 19, 1951 in Flint to the late Melvin and Harriet (McCrary). He was one of 10 children.
Thomas joined the United States Marine Corps at an early age while still in high school and was later honorably discharged. He went on to complete his graduation at Kearsley High School in Flint in 1969.
Thomas married the love of his life, Paula (Lucas) Earegood, on July 21, 1984, in Davison. They had 41 years together. Thomas worked for Dupont Mfg. as a color specialist and after 35 years he retired in 2006. They had a winter home in Florida where golfing was priority and Thomas was in two golf leagues there.
He and Paula eventually retired to National City in a beautiful home overlooking Sand Lake. Thomas continued playing in a golf league at Wicker Hills in Hale with his golfing partner, Norm Cooper. Paula and Thomas would also head to the Upper Peninsula and golf for one to two weeks celebrating their anniversary. Thomas was a member of the Aripeka, Fla. Elks Lodge, Hale Eagles, Moose Club, and American Legion.
Thomas was an avid Detroit Lions fan. He was always so hopeful every year that they would win a Super Bowl just for him. He enjoyed John Wayne movies and the TV show Gunsmoke. He would watch them continuously if given the chance. More than anything else, Thomas loved his children and grandchildren, especially having them at their home on Sand Lake.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Paula; children, Thomas Jr (Camille), John (Rhonda), and David; siblings, Pat (Gene) Harman, Doris Madsen, Jim Earegood, Mike Earegood, and Teresa Skodak; sister-in-law, Betty Earegood; grandchildren, Thomas III, Colton (Abby), Calia, Gavin, and Garrett; good friend, Norm Cooper; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Thomas was preceded by his parents; siblings, Melvin, William, Elmer, and Robert.
Family will hold a celebration of life service later. An online guest registry is available at
