Andrew J. Portoghese Andrew J. Portoghese, 82, of Hilton Head Island died April 6, 2017 at NHC in Bluffton. Andrew was born September 20, 1934 in Flushing, NY to Andrew and Alyce Portoghese. He graduated from University of Alabama and New England College of Optometry. He practiced optometry for 30 years in Flushing, NY. Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Florence; 2 sisters, Lorraine O'Brien and Marianne Blum and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 11 from 6 to 8 pm at The Island Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 12 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Six Oaks Cemetery.
