Ann and I worked together for years in the pharmacy management management company that went through various names from HPI to McKesson MedManagement.
I met Ann when she was a Pharmacy Director taking one of my management courses. She was bright and articulate. She eventually became one of my trainers.
A few years later, she and I were promoted together as Vice Presidents of Operations. Ann in charge of the Eastern half of the country, me of the West.
Besides being kind, smart, funny and great to work with, Ann had a rare ability I´ve only seen a few times in my career.
Most of us, when events begin to spin fast and out of control, start to look like Lucy in the Chocolate Factory. We speed up, then begin doing poor quality work trying to keep up, til we give up and start hiding unfinished work.
I watched Ann under incredible pressure. For her, the world seemed to slow down. Her mind became more focused. Solutions became more clear. She gave directions that were precise and easily understood. We followed them without question because they made sense.
The world has lost not only a wonderful person I knew as a friend, but we have also lost a rare leader.

I have Ann's picture in my office so that every day I see her beautiful smile and I think of only fond memories of times on the tennis court, or game nights and good fun.

Ann was one of those happy, sensitive people that drew you in and was giving and caring. We are so thankful that she touched our lives. Wish we all could have more time with her. Our memories are so vivid and her Family was her priority.

I am so saddened to hear of Ann´s passing. She was a mentor for me when she worked at Colleton Medical Center. She was so gracious with her time and knowledge. She spoke so lovingly about her family and made them a priority. My deepest condolences. She will truly be missed.
