Hilton Head Island, South Carolina - Brett Campbell, 49, of Hilton Head Island, passed away unexpectedly on May 6, 2025.
Born to Jerry and Janis Campbell on March 27, 1976 in Aurora, IL, Brett graduated from the University of Missouri in 1998. He began his career in sales with International Paper at Haig Point Club and later pursued real estate development roles at various private clubs in Florida.
He is survived by his mother, Janis Campbell of Hilton Head; his brother, Bryan of California; sister-in-law, Krista; niece and nephew, Olivia and Oscar; and his beloved aunts, uncle and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry.
Brett will be remembered for his infectious smile and deep loyalty to his family and friends.

We knew Brett through the Moore family when they all lived in Mahomet, Illinois. Our daughters, Moore´s kids & Brett would hang out when we visited. Brett was always such a kind young man & he stayed that way his entire life. We kept in touch over the years thru texting & were so glad we saw Brett & Janis last September in South Carolina. Brett is someone who is impossible to ever forget- his smile & kindness will define him forever. God comfort his family at this difficult time.

When we think of Brett, we remember his smile and fun personality. He was very easy to be with and wanted to make you comfortable. He was like a third son to us. We were with him the evening before he passed and he was so peaceful and saying encouraging words to comfort us. We could tell he knew where he was going and had glimpses of heaven. "By chance we met, but by choice we became friends".
For a couple of years in Orlando, we worked and played hard. Actually, it was difficult to distinguish between the two, for we, as a group, were nearly inseparable. It was so much fun.
The challenge of staying in touch over the years did not diminish our bond of friendship.
Thank you, Brett, for sharing a chapter in your life book with me.
