Brian Bramson Obituary

Brian Hugh Bramson passed peacefully at home Thanksgiving morning 2025 with his wife of 34 years Andrea by his side. We want to think he waited for everyone to be in town for the holiday before taking his last breath at 8:20 a.m.

Born in La Paz, Bolivia to Olga Del Solar and Bernard Bramson, Brian grew up in Chile, Brazil, Peru, Long Island, and South Africa. He was a graduate of Dartmouth College, served as a Green Beret in the US Army, and retired proudly as a Senior Intelligence Service (SIS) officer from the Central Intelligence Agency in 1997, a fact of which he rarely spoke. He loved family, friends, folk music, wine, golf, poker, food, and life. He spoke five languages, which he used to great effect all over the world in his work and personal life. His life memoirs have not yet been cleared by the CIA Publications Review Board, but when they are, you will know. His zest for life was immeasurable, and it was never dampened by the Parkinson disease with which he was diagnosed in 2005.

Brian is survived by his wife Andrea and children Brian Jr. (wife Laura, grandchildren Devon, Jacob, and Katelyn (married to Riley, mother of great grandson Morgan), Ian (wife Gretchen, grandchild Rafferty), Alex (wife Kelly, grandsons Calvin and Archer), Victoria, and Addy (fiancee Cole).

He will be buried at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC Thursday 4 December at 11 a.m. A celebration of life event will follow, location TBA.
