I am very saddened at Carol's passing! We had such a good time doing things together when we were both teaching at Burton Street Elementary School. She always gave me (lst grade) some of her best kindergarten students! I saw her last about a year ago when she visited in Cazenovia and she was the same lovable, happy person. I'll miss knowing I can't reach her by phone or letter.

I was just thinking of Mrs. Barrows a couple of weeks ago - and I wanted her to know that she was an inspiration to so many children and adults alike. We were all so blessed to have her as our first teacher in kindergarten. She instilled a love of life and an awe of the beauty of the world we live in. More than 30 years have passed - and I still think of her often and try to incorporate her lessons into my life. She really should have written the book

Mrs. Barrows has always been one of my most favorite people on this earth and in my life. I remember feeling really lucky to have had her for Kindergarten all those years ago, and feel even more appreciative and grateful that I also knew her once I matured and became an adult myself. :-) She had an incredibly joyous energy, a contagious smile, and the warmest hugs. I will never forget you, Mrs. Barrows. I truly hope you felt the love, encouragement and sweetness in your life that I felt in my life from having you in it. Love Love Love.

Mrs. Carol Barrows was my kindergarten teacher at Burton Elementary School in Cazenovia, and I vividly remember her beautiful smile and endless patience with us when we were little. She encouraged us to do our best, and celebrated our accomplishments. She helped with mittens, and stubborn zippers, and was a shining example of what a teacher should be. May your family find some comfort in knowing how very many hearts and lives she touched, and in knowing that there are many of us in this world who would not be who we are today without her loving touch. She will be deeply missed.

Mrs. Barrows touched the lives of so many children, including my own! 33 years have passed, but I vividly picture her beautiful smile and can hear her laughter! I often sing "Everybody look this way please" to my own children and think of her while doing so. I feel so blessed to have had her in my life! My thoughts and prayers are with her family....thank you for sharing her with us!

Mrs. Barrows gave me my Love for school in Kindergarten! I have become an elementary teacher myself as a grown up and find myself teaching my children things she taught me so many years ago. "One, two, three. Please stick for me! " that's how we get glue to stick. She continues to touch the lives of many children through her former students that truly loved her! I hope I am giving my students as much love as she gave me!

My girls and I loved Carol since the first time we met her. All three girls enjoyed Carol as their Kindergarten teacher in Cazenovia and I became a Kindergarten teacher after her leadership. I especially enjoyed our gourmet club in Caz and her wonderful meals. She will be missed! Jean Trexler (Sherrill, NY)

Jack, our hearts go out to you. Carol was such a kind, open, and enjoyable person, and we will miss her greatly. She always had a smile on her face and an interest in whomever she was speaking.
We hope this prayer will bring you peace, comfort, and joy.
Most merciful Father, we beseech you to accept into heaven the soul of one who reflected your Spirit for all to see, and one we will miss in ways we cannot even yet imagine, your servant Carol.
For this we have confidence in our sorrow and can rejoice through our tears: In your great mercy, you sent your only and eternal Son to take on our human nature, to live and die as one of us, to reconcile us to you, the God and Father of all.
We know you created Carol as a special gift to us, and that she is a sheep of your fold and a lamb of your very own flock. You sanctified her by the power of your Holy Spirit in baptism, then nurtured and nourished her with the bread of heaven and the cup of salvation as a member of the body of your Son our Savior Jesus Christ.
Lord Jesus, we pray that you welcome Carol with open arms with the words you have left us: "Come to me, beloved of my Father." Wrap her in the soft cloak of your compassion. Bathe her in the living waters that sparkle in the light of your heavenly country, so she might leave behind all of her pain and suffering and know at last that perfect health which is yours alone to give. Above all, we pray, fill her with your grace and the joy of everlasting blessedness.
And we beseech you, grant comfort to Jack, the rest of the family, the people of All Saints Church, and all others who will miss her day in and day out. Sustain and uphold us with your presence. Help us realize that she is happier and more at peace now than we here can ever understand. Mindful of her new life in light, let us enjoy stories about her with freshness and comfort.
Finally, in quiet times, help us look forward to our own reunion with you, her, and all others who live with you in your eternal kingdom.
So now with heavy hearts we commend Carol, our companion in faith and sister in Christ, to the mercy of God, our Maker and Redeemer. Go forth from this world in the love of the Father, who created you; in the mercy of Jesus Christ, who died for you; in the power of the Holy Spirit, who strengthens you. At one with all the faithful, living and departed, may you rest in peace and rise in glory, where grief and misery are banished and light and joy evermore abide. Amen.
