Charles "Chuck" E. Lather. Jr.

Beaufort, South Carolina - Charles "Chuck" E. Lather, Jr., 69, husband of Sheri Lather, of Beaufort, SC, died Sunday, August 29, 2021 in Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 6, 2021 from 5-7pm at Anderson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 11:00am in Carl Anderson Memorial Chapel with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Chuck was born on February 1, 1952 in Miami, FL. He is the son of the late Charles E. Lather, Sr. and Ernestine Weber Maldonado.
Chuck graduated from Miami Killian High School in 1971 and during that time he earned the rank of Eagle Scout while in the Boy Scouts of America. Upon graduation, Chuck immediately entered the Air Force and proudly served from 1971 – 1975.
Chuck spent the next 15 years working construction in South Florida before moving his family to Beaufort, SC in 1989, where he continued to work in the construction industry for the next 32 years.
Chuck was a proud husband to his wife, Sheri, of 44 years and a doting Father to Shane, Shawn & Nikki. He played an active role in his kid's lives, passionately coaching them in football, basketball, baseball, softball, and dirt bike racing.
When he wasn't spending time with his family, he also enjoyed playing competitive softball, bowling, hunting, racing, but his true passion was fishing the waterways of the lowcountry. Chuck enjoyed spending his time on the water and was known throughout the Redfish tournament circuit as a fierce competitor.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Sheri; are two sons, Shane Lather (Wife: Melissa) and Shawn Lather (Wife: Christin); one daughter, Nikki Shepperd (Husband: Charlie); one sister, Linda Wilburn (Husband: Wendell); and six grandchildren, Marley, Lexi, Wyatt, Ava, Layla and Shawna.
Chuck was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend to ALL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Port Royal Veterinary Hospital, to help them rebuild the main structure that was damaged by a tornado.
