Charles Stange Obituary

Charles "Chuck" StangeCharles "Chuck" Stange, 56, husband of Sharon Stange, of Beaufort, SC, died Friday, February 14, 2014 in Beaufort Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 5-7pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 2:00pm in Carl Anderson Memorial Chapel. Chuck was born on August 6, 1957 in Oahu, Hawaii. He is the son of the late William L. Stange and Marie Walker Stange. Charles "Chuck" Stange worked in the automotive industry for most of his career. Places of employment include: BC Automotive, Radsdale, Car Care Center, Midas Muffler of Hilton Head, Snap-On Tools and Auto Care Center of Beaufort. He was an ACE certified master mechanic and extremely knowledgeable in this field. Chuck was honest in his dealings and enjoyed working with most of the general public. He made many friends, left an impression on all he worked with, and cared deeply for his work colleagues. Above all Chuck placed his family first. He took extreme pride in his family, and was a loving, caring, devoted husband and father. It is not lost on his family, that he passed on Valentine's Day, and that we suffered and earthquake at the time of his passing as his final protest for having to leave them, or so we like to believe. His love for them was strong and true, always had been and always will be. Their loss of him is immeasurable. Chuck was known for many things, including his quick wit and sense of humor, lending a helping hand to those in need, loyalty and love for his extended family and friends, and the passion for fast automobiles. Most people will remember him riding around town in his father's restored white Ford pick-up with a smile on his face and a finger ready on the nitrous. Surviving in addition to his wife, Sharon; are one son, Charles Stange and one daughter, Amanda Stange Hutcheson; two sisters, Susan Mounce and Barbara "Bunny" Bohannan; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.

Chuck has been my mechanic since the day I moved here from New Jersey in 2000. He was an honest man and always went above and beyond to help me and my husband with all of our car issues. Chuck was the best in his field and I sent many customers to him. I loved his sense of humor, his laugh, his care and especially for the way he made us feel like we were the most important customers he had.We love you Chuck, thank you for many years of wonderful service. God bless you Stange family.

Although I conducted business with Chuck on a regular basis, our relationship made me feel more of a friend than a business associate. I could always depend on Chuck to give me straight, honest scoop without any frills and we always departed with a hand shake or humorous exchange of words. Me and my son often joked about going to see “Mr. Chuck” because we knew it would result with some laughter. I'll always remember Chuck's quick wit and sense of humor that always made my visits pleasurable. My heart goes out to his family and all those that were close to him. You will be truly missed. Rest in peace my friend. Rich

Celebrating a Life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.
Chuck, sometimes we wish we could have, should have. I've know you since we were teenagers working at the SOC station. We have some good times. Some of the stuff we won't discuss here! We will meet again and laugh at the things we did. We had some fun!
Rest in Peace my friend.

I knew Chuck from Auto Care Center. He was a straight up guy, and you just knew you could trust what he was telling you. If a guy is excellent in his work, he's probably excellent in the other areas of his life too, and the comments from those that knew him better certainly reflect that. Chuck, you will be missed. I have known Chuck and Sharon since I was a child, they were like a 2nd family to my sisters and I, when I learned of this news I was in a state of shock. Chuck was always laughing and making jokes, to make us laugh. Summers were always a blast during the 4th,and they always had beautiful dogs. Chuck will always be remembered, loved, and missed terribly. Until we meet again, we love you!!

Dearest Chuck,
I know you are looking down onto your family, While they are grieving your lost,as well as your friends. Yet I still can't wrap my hands around the fact that you were taken from so soon. You are a one in a million kind of guy. When god made you he did a outstanding job! Now that he has chosen to take you back home. Without NO warning, We all are left here asking ourselves and God WHY? Yet I know in all due time we shall have our answer. Till then we can't help not too ask or think it. Your personalty just glowed in everything that you did or touch. If something was upsetting someone you knew what to say and how too say it to put a smile on there face. So now it's my turn to do the same for you and your family! I'm so honored to have met you. Also to have been able to call you a friend. I don't want you to worry about anything now.I want you to rest in peace with a clear heart and mind. To everyone you left back here I know they will be care for and taken care of. So you can be at peace with yourself knowing that. I'm going too miss your laughs, your corny jokes, you giving everyone heck! Most of all I'm going to miss you! With that being said Chuck I'm NOT going to say good bye,Yet say I'll see you soon my friend... Always,
Stacy Jewell

To the Stange family,
You all are in my thoughts and prayers during this time. I know there are no words that I can even say to take the pain away or I would in a heart beat no question asked. Or give you all the answer you all long to hear and know. Everyone of ya'll are in my thoughts and prayers. I know with time this ruff road that ya'll are on will start to get smooth. They say everything happens for a reason yet we keep asking our self why? I also want to thank ya'll for sharing your husband, father, son, brother, uncle,
nephew with me and all of his friends. Chuck is amazing person I know his life will live on here through his two amazing children. With that being said Thank you again and God bless ALL of you in this darkest hour.
Always,
Stacy Jewell

~ Such amazing person ~
