Chesley Gleason Obituary
November 12, 1969 - June 28, 2021
Hilton Head Island, South Carolina - Chesley Elizabeth Thompson Gleason, 51, of Hilton Head Island, SC entered into eternal rest in the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on June 28, 2021.
She was born on November 12, 1969 in Columbia, SC. She graduated from Brookland Cayce High School in 1987. She attended the College of Charleston in 1989 and graduated from Middle Georgia State University in 1994.
Chesley was a bright light that brought joy to everyone she met. Chesley had a love for Jesus, family, and her four-legged companions. Also, she was a huge Elvis fan and treasured memories from a trip she took to Graceland several years ago. She was very excited when she got the opportunity to meet and be interviewed by George Klein, a close friend of Elvis Presley.
Chesley was employed by Spinnaker Blue Water Resort and Marina for 11 years as a front desk agent in Hilton Head Island, SC. Chesley loved her job and co-workers and they in return loved her.
Over the years, Chesley dealt with many health issues but always had a happy spirit and a reassuring faith that God would provide for all of her needs.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles (Chuck) de Boifeuillet Thompson, III; paternal grandparents, Charles de Boifeuillet, Jr. and Mary Elliot Thompson; maternal grandparents, Charlie H. Wilson and Elizabeth G. Wilson; aunt Jane Gray Wilson Davis and her son Derek.
Survivors include her husband, David Gleason of Hilton Head Island, SC; mother, Nan Wilson Thompson of Butler, GA; fur babies, Puss and Wolf-Wolf; cousin, James Donald Davis, Jr. and wife Susan of Bolingbroke, GA; uncle, Major General (Retired) James Donald Davis of Byron, GA; numerous relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held on July 2, 2021 at Horeb Baptist Church in Butler, GA at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Wesley United Methodist Church Cemetery in Butler, GA.
Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, Butler, GA.

We only learned of Chesley's passing today and were shocked and saddened. Such a sweet individual; we looked forward every year to visit with her at Bluewater. It won't be the same without her.

My most heartfelt condolences to the family. Chesley was like a little sister to as kids . My mom took care of Chesley while Nan was at work . She bought a lot smiles and love into our life .

I was so sorry to hear of Chesley´s passing. She lived next door to me in Craig Dorm at the College of Charleston our freshman year. We had a lot of great times! Sending love and prayers to her family.
