George Harold Dunbar, 2nd Lt., USMC, Ret.George Harold Dunbar, 79, left this world on June 16, 2015 to be with his loving wife of 50 years, Caroline Ann (Getty) Dunbar, whom passed away December 21, 2003. Our loving father retired as a 2nd Lieutenant from the United States Marine Corps after 23 years of proud service to his country. His military career included multiple tours abroad including the Vietnam War. Our mother stood proudly beside him raising all four children all across the United States. George and Carol Dunbar are survived by their children; William Dunbar Sr., Debra (Vince) Altobello, David Dunbar, Jennifer Brown and grandchildren; William Dunbar Jr, Shannon Carr, Heather Sanders, Vincent Altobello, Jr, Christina Wolcott, Benjamin Dunbar, Joshua Dunbar, Bethany Dunbar, Christine Shirley and Elizabeth Brown. Great grandchildren; Sarah Dunbar, Dylan Carr, Jack Carr III, Nathan Carr, Austin Sanders, Charlie Sanders, Madeline Sanders, Caleb Stripling, Jacob Stripling, Avery Stripling, Riley Altobello, Alyssa Nicole, also many nieces, nephews, and friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015 from 11am-1pm at Anderson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015 at 1pm in the Carl Anderson Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Beaufort National Cemetery at 2 PM on Monday, June 22, 2015, with full military honors. George will be buried alongside his wife, Carol. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
