My thoughts are with the family at this sad time. I always enjoyed Dr. Berney over many many years as he was
kind and loving. We just spoke a few
weeks ago.

Johnny Babe, the doctor of the drive, lives fondly in our memories. A fixture on the Wexford driving range dispensing advice on the golf swing interspersed with personal anecdotes. So much a fixture that when it was announced about twelve years ago that the driving range would be closed for renovation, old friend Dick Bell facetiously suggested we put a suicide watch on Berney. An awful lot of us will miss him. We may be wrong, but we believe John was the last one to shoot his age at Wexford. We hope that Johnny Babe finds that heavenly golf courses have fewer bunkers than Wexford.
