John Reeve Kellum

John Reeve Kellum, 86, of Hilton Head, SC., passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2014. John was born on February 9, 1928 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Donald and Helen (Triggs) Kellum. He graduated from Broadripple High School in 1945 and from Earlham College in 1950. On June 17, 1950 he married the former Jane Carol Sherk of Wyomissing, PA. John's professional career was in Dairy Operations Management with Kroger and The Soundland Corporation. He was an avid boater and a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary on Lake Texoma. Over the last thirty years in Hilton Head, John was active in Deep Well, Meals on Wheels, the Beaufort County Dept. of Social Services, a volunteer at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, and a dedicated volunteer for the Heritage Golf Tournament. John is survived by his wife Carol; son John and his wife Cindy of Houston, TX; daughter Ginny and her husband Jack of Dawsonville, GA; two grandchildren, Ashley Kellum of Dallas, TX., and Reeve Kellum and his wife Monica of Houston, TX. John was also pleased to welcome his new great-grandson, Brooks Reeve Kellum on October 20, 2013. A private family graveside service will be held in Six Oaks Memorial Park. A memorial celebration of John's life will be held at a future date.
