Karl Siebers Obituary

Hilton Head Island, South Carolina - Karl Siebers, 86, of Hilton Head, SC, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024. He was born on June 12, 1938, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Herm and Grace Siebers, who preceded him in death.
Karl is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Martha Siebers, and his devoted children: Scott (Susan), Bill (Ja), and Don (Melissa). He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Miu (Brannon), Max, Ian, Anna, Alicia, and Aiden. He is also survived by his siblings Lynn Siebers, Sharon Potter, and Jack Siebers, all of whom shared in the joy of his life and legacy.
Karl grew up in Grand Rapids, MI and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology before serving in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Junior Grade aboard the aircraft carrier Saratoga. After his naval service, he spent the bulk of his career at Prince Corporation in Holland, Michigan serving as the Director of Purchasing.
Karl and Martha, raised their family in Holland, Michigan, where they built a loving home with their three sons. His greatest joy was his family and he deeply cherished the moments he spent with them bowling, running, golfing, and traveling, creating countless memories that will be treasured forever. Karl was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed exploring nature, taking long road trips, visiting national parks, and traveling.
He retired to Hilton Head, SC, in 1995 becoming a dedicated member of the Church of the Cross and giving back to his community through his volunteer work with Gods Goods, Habitat for Humanity, and Meals on Wheels. His faith, generosity, and commitment to helping others left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Karl Siebers will be remembered as a man of faith, kindness, and love, whose legacy will live on in the lives of those he touched. He will be deeply missed.
A memorial service for Karl will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 17th, 2025 at Church of the Cross, in Bluffton, SC.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Karl, contributions may be made to God's Goods of Bluffton, SC or Habitat for Humanity of Hilton Head.

Karl, Will and I were members of the Church of the Cross "Warehouse Gang" on Friday mornings where we were jacks of all trades (and maybe masters of some). Our job was to inspect incoming donations for fitness to resale. This involved a myriad of unique tests at the test bench, repairs, p
lacing ready for sale items in the store and receiving donations. Karl was a steadying influence, mentor and good friend, I and all who worked with him will miss him. Fair winds, Karl.
