Katherine Ferguson Obituary

Katherine Rose Ferguson, 101, wife of the late Richard Ferguson died May 21, 2014 at her residence on Hilton Head Island. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 25, from 2-5 P.M. at The Island Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 26, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church on Hilton Head. There will be a private internment on Tuesday at St. Francis. Katherine was born on January 5, 1913 in New York City to John and Theresa Manley. She was the sixth of ten children. She was a devoted sister and remained close with all her siblings throughout her life. Katherine met and married Richard Ferguson and spent many happy years living in Parkchester in the Bronx, New York, where they raised three daughters, Alice Coyne, Patricia Meahan Gardner and Eileen O'Keefe. Katherine and Dick retired to Lake Ronkonkoma, New York where they spend many happy years. She moved to Hilton Head Island in 2002 to be closer to her three daughters. Katherine was a loving wife and mother. She was a role model to her 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She will be remembered for the beautiful person she was and the love she bestowed and shared with her family.
