February 4, 1958 - November 30, 2020
Hilton Head Island, South Carolina - Kimberly Westover Kord, 62, of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina passed away on November 30, 2020. She was born February 4, 1958 in Indianapolis and attended North Central High School in Indianapolis and Indiana University, graduating in 1980. She was the daughter of Robert Frank Westover and Phyllis Jane (Myers) Westover.
Kim is survived by her husband Randy Kord of Hilton Head Island, whom she married on May 7, 1983; sisters Karen Westover Zimmerman (Rob) and Kristin Westover; and niece Madalina Zimmerman and nephew Alexandru Zimmerman.
Kim had more than 34 years of experience in various executive positions in banking and commercial lending, both in Indianapolis and Hilton Head. Throughout her career, Kim broke many gender barriers, becoming one of the highest-ranking female executives in the financial sector. She was widely respected for her passion in mentoring other professionals in their careers. Kim also served as a board member for several non-profits in Indianapolis and Hilton Head including the American Liver Foundation-Indiana Chapter, YWCA of Central Indiana, BOS Community Development Corporation, the Highland Golf & Country Club, and the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry.

I was shocked to hear of Kim’s passing. She was so young and full of life. She was a great boss and friend. Such a strong leader and a great example set in my early banking career. I have many happy memories of Kim, as I know her family does too. Take care of yourself, Randy. Life is short.
