Vito Picaro Obituary

Vito Joseph Picaro(April 10, 1951-Juy 28, 2015) A native of New York, Vito was a very large personality that was loved and admired by many. None of this could compare to his compassion toward others. He was a father figure to many, his own children, Jason Picaro and Michele Picaro-Dowd, as well as Lilly Allen, Kyle Jackson and Holly Jackson, the children of his companion, Maria Jackson. He enjoyed spending the limited time he had with his grandchildren, Kalena Rose, Isabel and AJ as well as many nieces and nephews. Having relocated to Beaufort, SC in 2003, Vito remained visible to his immediate and extended family throughout the world. Vito was a tremendous supporter of student athletics here in Beaufort, lending advice, knowledge and financial support to Beaufort Academy, St. Peter's School and Beaufort High on behalf of Lilly Allen and the many other young men and young ladies that he encountered, pursuing team sports. He will be greatly missed, but most of all knowing how hard he fought his battle with cancer, we will take his memories and live knowing he was an inspiration to all. In lieu of flowers, we are suggesting donations be made to St. Jude's, P.O. Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38105. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 3 pm at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.

Such tragic news, hearing of the passing of Vito. I feel honored to have had the pleasure of meeting him each time I went to Florida, and happy that I got to know him, as he always embraced everyone that came in contact with him as a true friend, and at times , treating you like family. Heaven just received an Angel with a terrific outlook on life, and a heart of gold, who always had a big smile, that matched his persona. You will never be forgotten.
