William Breighner Obituary

William Joseph Breighner William Joseph Breighner, 30, of Beaufort South Carolina passed away unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm on November 7, 2016 at MUSC Charleston SC. William was born August 2 1986 to Michael T Breighner and the late Sharon Somers Breighner in York, Pennsylvania. He graduated from York County School of Technology with high honors in 2005. His life of selfless service began in October 2005 when he enlisted in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, attending basic at Fort Jackson SC. In early 2007 William enlisted Active Duty Army and was stationed at Schofield Barracks Hawaii with the 58th MP Co. He served his country during Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2008-2009. William also served with the 13 MP Co out of Fort Leonard Wood Missouri. After his active duty enlistment was up he continued the serve in the U.S Army Reserves most recently with the 1189th Transportation Brigade in Charleston SC. William worked in Afghanistan with Triple Canopy from 2012-2013. When he returned he began his law enforcement career with the Marine Corps Civilian Police at Parris Island Recruit Depot. In January 2016 William began working for the Beaufort County Sheriffs Office. He was a deputy until his death. William left to cherish his memory his wife of almost 10 years, Alyssa R Breighner (Williams) of Beaufort SC and their four young children Caroline Grace Breighner, Collin Matthew Breighner, Charlotte Kaye Breighner and Cade Jonathan Breighner. Two brothers Justin Breighner (West Ashley, SC) and Michael Breighner (Albertsville AL) as well as one sister Tabitha Breighner (Oxford AL) and two sisters in law Rebecca and Tricia Williams (Ridgeland SC). He leaves six nieces and nephews Elliott and Sadie Williams, Macie and Cole Breighner and Quin and Taynia McDonald. He also leaves his maternal grandmother Faye Somers of York, PA, Aunts Joann Somers (Jaiver Zapata) of York, PA and Jane (Ty) Eckert of Loris SC and their children Vanessa and Eliza Zapata and Elena Eckert. William leaves his wife's parents John and Devra Williams (Ridgeland SC) and Jeffrey and Jennifer Collier(Chicago IL) whose love for him was that of their own son. He also leaves his brothers and sisters in the Beaufort County Sheriff's Department, the U.S. Army and The Marine Corps Civilian Police. He was greeted in heaven by his mother Sharon K Breighner and his grandfathers Robert W Somers and Harvey J Breighner. The family will receive friends on Monday November 14, 2016 from 10-11:30am at Anderson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday November 14, 2016 at 11:30am at Carl Anderson Memorial Chapel with burial at Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in William's honor to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
