A. Meninno Obituary

A. Nicholas "Nick" Meninno , 88

1934 - 2022

Lynnfield - A.Nicholas "Nick" Meninno, age 88, of Lynnfield, formerly of Saugus and Lynn, died Saturday in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, after a very brief illness. He was the husband of the late Margaret "Peggy" (Grant) Meninno. He was the son of the late Nicholas and Nicholina Meninno.

Nick was well known and loved throughout the City of Lynn. He was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, class of 1953. He was the owner and founder of Meninno Construction. Nick started his career working with his father building houses in the City of Lynn, then spent 20+ years constructing sidewalks throughout the City. His greatest love was the 50+ years he spent plowing the Lynn Public Schools and many businesses throughout the City. He loved a good blizzard. Nick retired 28 years ago but continued to visit the jobs weekly, attending bid openings, and always kept his eye out for the next job opportunity.

Nick supported many Lynn organizations over the years, but especially enjoyed the volunteer work he did at the Lynn Special Needs Camp, and the many Christmas Eve's he drove a float in the Lynn Christmas Parade. His generosity and genuine caring for others was second to none. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Valladolid Council #70 in Lynn, and proudly drove around with his KC70 license plate. He was Past President and Advisor of the Valladolid Building Association. Nick was also a member of Assembly 390 Father Gabriel Druillette, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, and the Santa Famiglia Lodge of the Sons of Italy. He served for six years in the Massachusetts Air National Guard.

Nick enjoyed many wonderful years in North Conway, and Naples Florida. He was the ultimate host and bartender, Bloody Marys were his specialty. He loved entertaining friends on his boat and in his homes. He was famous for his coffee and bagel deliveries, lunch runs, and dinners out with family and friends. Food was love!

He is survived by his children; Dr. Cheryl Meninno of Ossipee, NH, Debby Regan and her husband Tim of Lynnfield, Nicholas S. Meninno and his wife Christine (Pelosi) of Swampscott, Jill Guerriero and her husband Joseph of Lynnfield, Scott Meninno and his wife Sandi (Springer) of Danvers, his twin sister Gloria Santangelo and her husband Fred of Lynnfield; his sisters-in-law Charlene Kiley and her husband Danny of North Reading, and Cheryl Grant of Haverhill.

He was the father of the late Wendy M. Hayes and brother of the late Theresa Ballerini and Lillian Trapasso.

He was known to many, not just his grandchildren as "Dado". He was very proud of his 11 grandchildren; Christopher Regan, T.J. Regan and his wife Stephanie, Jenna Papagni and her husband Michael, Sara Guerriero, Dr.Erica Meninno- DeChillo and her husband Nick, Dr. Amanda Nimkar and her husband Michael, Nicholas Meninno and his fiancée Stefani, Anthony & Cindy Meninno, Krista Springer and Katie Analoro and her husband Anthony; as well as 12 great-grandchildren. He instilled love, compassion, and generosity in their lives along with a few extra bucks from his wallet! He was "Uncle Anthony" to so many nieces and nephews that adored him.

Service Information: His funeral mass will be held on Thursday at 1:00 PM in Sacred Heart Church, 571 Boston St., Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Dec 30 from 3-7 at the K of C in Lynn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Communitas 60-D Audubon Rd., Wakefield, MA 01880, a non-profit program for adults with special needs where his grandson Christopher attends.
