Albert G. Coppola

SAUGUS - Mr. Albert G. Coppola, age 84, died on July 31 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington as a result of a fall and heart complications. He was the husband of Petrina A. (Cacciatore) Coppola, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.Born and raised in Revere, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Amelia (D'Amore) Coppola.Mr. Coppola was a bus driver for the MTBA for 28 years before retiring. Prior to the MBTA Mr. Coppola was the service manager at McKenzie Motors in Salem.An active member of the community, he was the former Saugus Democratic Committee Treasurer, a former Town Meeting member, he served on the Saugus Water and Sewer Commission, and was a longtime member of the Saugus Knights of Columbus. Mr. Coppola also served with the Massachusetts National Guard Reserve. His vibrant smile embraced everyone he knew. A kind and gentleman, he was the first to lend a helping hand and put others first. He enjoyed telling jokes and loved sports, especially the Yankees. Most of all, Albert loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and loving wife Petrina.Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Albert S. Coppola of Saugus, Nancy M. Bray and her husband William of Danvers; grandchildren, Angela M. Bray and Christopher W. Bray, both of Danvers. He was predeceased by five brothers and one sister.
