1943 - 2022

Lynn - Anna D. Szpak, age 78, daughter of the late Guy Cennami and Grace Rizzo, and Step-daughter of the late Charles Rizzo of Lynn, passed away peacefully, July 24, 2022. She was happily married to the late Matthew Szpak for 39 years.

Born on August 26, 1943, Anna grew up and became an active member of the Lynn Community working as a volunteer for the Lynn Polls and Lynn Senior Center. She also worked as a bus coordinator at Leo Head Start, made meals for the students of Lynn at St. Stephen's Church, and a lunch aide for the Lynn Public Schools for many years.

Anna's time spent with family was precious and she enjoyed being surrounded by all. She was the glue that held family together through the good times and the bad. She was at every family cookout and was the life of the party. Those that know her, Anna was always out to have fun, be the center of attention and celebrate every holiday, dressed for every occasion. Anna spent her days gambling at Encore and playing Bingo with her sister Matilda Campagna, enjoyed doing puzzles and being in the company of her friends in the building of where she lived. She was a yard sale shopper, always out to find a good deal and avid collector of Elvis and Betty Boop.

Anna is survived by her 3 children; daughter Deborah Szpak of St. Pauls, NC, daughter Michelle Treazise of Billings, MT, and son Michael Szpak and his wife Barbara of Danville, NH. She is preceded by her son, Matthew Szpak Jr. Also survived by her 6 loving grandchildren and 3 beautiful great-grandchildren. Preceded in death is her sister Jeanette and husband John Fazio, and her brother Albert Rizzo and survived by her sister-in-law, Donna Rizzo. She is also survived by her sister Matilda and her husband Anthony "Gillis" Campagna, brother Charles Rizzo and his wife Cheril, brother Achille "Chuckie" Cennami and his wife Carolyn, sister Kathryn and husband William Jenkins, her brother John Cennami, and sister Pauline Cennami. Anna will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Service Information: Friends and family are invited to attend Anna's visiting hours on Sunday July 31, from 1pm-5pm in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Her funeral Service will be held Monday August 1, at 11am in the Funeral Home, followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Anna's memory to the Senior Center, 37 Friend St. Lynn, MA.
