Carol Ann Delano Obituary
Nahant - Carol Ann (Emerick) Delano, age 89, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025. Her husband, Leon Moleti Delano Jr., age 91, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025. They had shared 67 years of marriage.
Carol graduated from Nazareth College in Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition then went on to earn her Master's degree in Speech Therapy from Loyola University in Chicago, IL. She taught Speech Therapy at Queen of the Rosary Catholic School in Elk Grove Village, IL.
Leon graduated from Boston University with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering then went on to serve in the United States Air Force as a pilot flying B-47E jet bombers from 1957-1959. Then, together with Carol, Leon built a trucking company in Chicago, IL. Leon also proudly served as the Commodore of the Chicago Yacht Club for year 1993 and 1994.
Carol and Leon are survived by their children, Leon III (Lisa), Mary Carol, Dan (Shelly) and Martin. They were known as Poppy and GiGi to their grandchildren Alexandria, Courtney (Dan), Patrick (Kostadina), Danny, Thomas (Morgan), Mark (Jenna) and Madeline (Jacob); and five, soon to be seven, great grandchildren. Carol is also survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Kordas (Joe).
Service Information: Carol and Leon will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Nahant, MA with Leon's parents and grandparents. On November 8,2025, services will be held at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in Nahant, MA. Visitation will be in the church from 9AM-10AM, with a Funeral Mass beginning at 10AM.
