WARWICK, R.I. - Carole Mae (Keans) Gaudet passed away on July 23, 2013 in Warwick, R.I. after a brief illness.She was born in Swampscott on April 6, 1932, living most of her life in Lynn, then spending her retirement years in Conway, N.H. She and her beloved late husband, Alfred (Lou) Gaudet, recently moved to Warwick, R.I. to be closer to
family.Carole was the daughter of the late Earl and Margaret (Thompson) Keans. She was an active student, graduating in 1949 from Lynn Classical High School. Carole had always wanted a large family and the kind of home where kids would want to gather, and she and Louie successfully created both. In addition to raising her family, Carole also had a career in health services first as a dental assistant, then as a chiropractic assistant in offices in Lynn and
Marblehead.Carole enjoyed cooking, watching musicals, reading and listening to all types of music. She cherished memories of taking motorcycle road trips, laughing and dancing with her husband of 63 years. She also didn't let age stop her from new experiences, like getting her first tattoo, a heart, at 75 and finishing it with "Lou" at
81.Carole is survived by sister, Constance Barney and her husband Donald of Uniontown, Pa. and children Robert Gaudet and his wife Laura of Peabody, Daniel Gaudet and his wife Deborah of Marblehead, John Gaudet of Ludlow, Vt., and Debra Gaudet and her partner Chris McHatton of Warwick, R.I. She also leaves grandchildren, Tracy Gaudet and her partner Patrick McElligott and Michael Gaudet and his wife Jody, as well as great grandchildren, Samantha and Connor, and several nieces and nephews. Carole was also the sister of the late James Keans and his wife Norma of Walpole, N.H. She will also be missed by many longtime friends who have shared life experiences with Carole since early school years.Service information: Internment and services to be held on Monday, July 29 at 2:45 p.m. at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Peabody followed by a Celebration of Life Reception from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Spinelli's, 10 Newbury St. (Route 1 South) in Lynnfield.
