Howard Johnson's employee for 20 yearsSAUGUS-Mrs. Doris E. (Maag) Macedo, age 82, died on Saturday evening at the Annemark Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Manuel Macedo.Born in Lynn, raised and a life long resident of Saugus, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Hadley) Maag. Upon graduating from Saugus High School, Doris was employed by General Electric and also played in a softball league during World War II. After her marriage in 1946, Doris worked at the Howard Johnson's restaurant on the Lynnway for 20 years before retiring to become a full-time homemaker. Throughout her life Doris was an active volunteer at My Brother's Table, the children's choir, altar guild and annual fair at St. John's church and organized the GLSS monthly supper club at Laurel Towers.Doris lived for the past few years at the Annemark Nursing Home where she was well cared for and loved.She is survived by four children: Donna Gagnon of MD, Nancy Winch, Michael Macedo both of Saugus & Susan & the late John Macedo, one brother; Charles Maag; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.Service Information: A funeral service will be held in St. John's Episcopal Church, Prospect & Central Street, Thursday at 10 a.m. Relatives & friends invited.
