Lynn - Lynn – Eleanor M. (Jenkins) Wyckoff, 100, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at home with her family by her side.
A lifelong resident of Lynn, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Frank and Marie (Salois) Jenkins. She graduated from St. Jean Baptiste Catholic School and then Lynn Hospital's School of Nursing, class of 1946.
Eleanor was a member of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II. She was a registered nurse for 52 years and worked at Lynn and Union Hospitals.
Eleanor enjoyed a long, well-lived life. She had a keen sense of humor and often sought out fun with friends and family. She had a great love for music as well as dancing, which she did well into her 80s. She travelled extensively, including throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, and many islands. She especially loved Aruba, which she visited 52 times, calling it her "happy island."
A faithful reader of the Boston Globe and the Lynn Item, Eleanor kept up with news, passionately followed sports, cheering on her Boston teams and enjoyed doing her crossword puzzles. She also loved sitting in the sun on her patio, admiring her flowers.
Most of all, "Ellie" enjoyed spending time with family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, the heart and center of our family, and was much loved and will be greatly missed.
Surviving her are two daughters, Judith Horton of Cave Creek, AZ and Marcia Oak and her husband, Charles of Lynn; her son, David C. Wyckoff and his wife, Linda of NH; eleven grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a son-in-law, Dana Andrews, and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Linda Danahy (and late son-in-law William Danahy), Ann E. Andrews, and Nancy Gantt and sister of the late Francis Jenkins, Rita Doucette, Lester Jenkins, M.D., Roland Jenkins, George Jenkins, and Richard Jenkins.
Service Information: ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ann Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody, on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 10:30a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial in St. Jean Cemetery, Lynn.
