Swampscott - Erasmia Meimaridis, age 96, of Swampscott, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
She was the beloved wife of the late Demetrios (James) Meimaridis.
Born on Mytilene, Lesvos, Greece, Erasmia made her home in Swampscott for more than 50 years, where she built a life grounded in faith, family, and love.
She is survived by her son, Gregory Meimaridis of Swampscott, who lovingly cared for her for many years, and her beloved daughter, Erika Leone, and husband Joseph Leone of Newburyport. She was a proud grandmother to Demi Wittman and her husband Ryan Wittman of North Andover, and to Maria Feloney and her husband Nick Feloney of Newburyport. Her cherished great-grandchildren include Robert Wittman, Mackenzie Wittman, and Joseph Feloney, and she was joyfully awaiting the arrival of another great-granddaughter, Baby Feloney, in March.
She is survived by two sisters, Ourania Kalogiannis and Anna Logothetis, and was predeceased by her sisters, Eleni Platoyiannis and Evangelia Koundourelis. She will be lovingly remembered by her many cousins in Montreal, including her beloved nieces, Olga Kalogiannis, Mary Kalogiannis and Georgia Kalogiannis.
Erasmia was a remarkable cook and an avid gardener. She will be fondly remembered for her special dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), which she lovingly prepared for family and friends over the years, using grape leaves handpicked from her own garden. She found great joy in cooking, gardening, and knitting, and cherished sharing stories from her childhood in Greece with those she loved…
We will miss her warmth, generosity, and sense of humor. Her memory will live in our hearts forever.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Lincoln House in Lincoln, MA, and Care Dimensions for their kind compassionate care during her final days.
