Lynn - Atty. John C. Mihos, age 74, of Lynn, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, May 21, 2021.

A lifelong resident of Lynn, John was the son of the late Rev. Charles L. and Penelope D. (DeCoulos) Mihos. John was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, class of 1964. He earned both his undergraduate (1968) and Juris Doctorate (1971) degrees from Boston University.

John, who began his legal career in the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, had practiced law in the City of Lynn for the past 49 years, and for the past 36 years has served as the attorney for the Lynn School Committee.

He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church as well as a former member of the Parish's Parish Council, of which he served as President for 15 years. He was a member of the Friendly Knights of St. Patrick since 1975 and was the Randazzo-Solimine Community Service Award recipient, given annually by the Friendly Knights, in 2013.

John, who played both football and basketball for Lynn Classical High School, remained a loyal and avid fan of Rams sports throughout his life. Some of John's fondest memories were of his time spent at Camp Leslie with his mother, father, and sister, trips to Disney World and Cape Cod with his family, and playing golf with his friends. John especially enjoyed reminiscing about both playing for and coaching the St. George men's basketball team who participated in tournaments throughout the country and were annual hosts of the St. George Church Harry Agganis Tournament.

His commitment to the Greek community in the City of Lynn as well as his support of many other local organizations were of utmost importance to him.

He is survived by his 2 children; Charles J. "CJ" Mihos and his wife Stephanie of Lynn, and Christina M. Granese and her husband Steven of Marblehead, 3 grandchildren; Helena and Yianna Mihos and Eleni Granese, his former wife Helen Psallidas Mihos of Lynn, his sister Stephanie Pappagianopoulos and her husband Paul of Peabody, a nephew Peter Pappagianopoulos and his wife Kelly, and 2 nieces; Constance Spack and her husband Jeffrey and Maria Fenn, and 7 grand nieces.

Service Information: His Funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:00AM from the Solimine Funeral Home 426 Broadway (RTE129), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00AM in St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and are required to adhere to the guidelines of the CDC, the State of Massachusetts and the Local Board of Health, which allows up to 50 family and friends in the funeral home at a time and all are required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
