John Moleti Obituary

John F. Moleti, 72
1951 - 2024
Nahant, MA - John Francis Moleti, age 72 and lifelong resident of Nahant, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. He was the devoted husband of Susan A. (Babin) Moleti with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, in 1951, he was the oldest son of Frances (Mirabello) Moleti of Nahant and the late Leo Moleti. He was raised and educated in Nahant and graduated from Lynn Trade. John was a longtime lobsterman and fisherman and later worked at Robert W. Irvine & Sons for over 15 years. His love for the sea didn't end with his career. He enjoyed tuna fishing and striper fishing and just being out on the ocean. He was an avid gardener and spent many hours tending to his vegetables and flowers. Quite the handyman, he was always able and willing to fix anything for anyone. John had a passion for food. He was an amazing cook, loved to eat and was always hosting dinners and holiday gatherings at his home. His greatest joy was spending time with his beloved family.
In addition to his wife Susan and mother Frances, John is survived by his loving children, Joseph and his partner Brent O'Connor, James and his wife Leah and their daughter Madeline and Rosalie and her boyfriend Jonathan Conley; his brothers and sisters, Richard Moleti and his girlfriend Dawn Dorgan, Christopher Moleti, Jean Walsh and her husband Thomas, and Katherine Irvine and her husband Mark; his in-laws, Edgar Babin, Elizabeth Babin, Teresa and William Newell and Douglas Babin and his many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. In addition to his father Leo, he was predeceased by his nephew Craig Newell.
Service Information: A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 67 Ocean St. (Rt. 1A), Lynn at 11a.m. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nahant.
