Laurie A. Rusin

Laurie Ann (Demit) Rusin, born in Lynn to her proud parents, the late Melvin "Spike"? Demit and Patricia (Flynn) Demit from Nahant. Laurie was a devoted wife and mother. Laurie is survived by her husband of 26 years, Richard Paul Rusin from Woodbury, Minn.; her son, Daniel Richard Rusin from Woodbury, Minn.; and daughter, Katherine Patricia Rusin from Boston; Laurie's mother, Patty Demit of Nahant; siblings, Paul Edward (Maura) Demit from Milton, Ga., and Amy Elizabeth (Alfred) Sablone from North Reading; four nieces and one nephew, Megan Demit from San Francisco, Calif., Grace Demit from Milton, Ga., Caroline Sablone from North Reading, Ryan Demit from Milton, Ga., and Lauren Sablone from North Reading; mother-in-law Virginia Rusin from Bayonne, N.J.; and sister-in-law Gail Rusin from Oakland, Calif. Raised in Nahant from birth, Laurie was a graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School in Peabody and Wellesley College, Wellesley, where she graduated cum laude. Following graduation from Wellesley College, Laurie was a trust officer with Northern Trust in Chicago, Ill. Following the completion of her husband, Rich's PhD at Northwestern University in Chicago, Laurie and Rich moved to Woodbury, Minn. to start a family and where Laurie and Rich raised Dan and Kate and where Laurie lived until her death. Service information: Laurie's funeral will be held on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018 at 9 a.m. from the SOLIMINE Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. (Route 1A), Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Nahant, at 10 a.m. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nahant. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
