Retired medical secretaryLYNN - Mrs. Linda (Amelotte) Benedict, 71 years, of Lynn, died Monday, July 8, 2013 in Salem Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She is married to Ronald "Benny" Benedict, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.She was born in Lynn to the late Victor and Viola (Babb) Amelotte, and lived in Lynn all of her life. She was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1959.Linda loved shopping and going to yard sales. She loved taking trips to Foxwoods and scratch tickets. She enjoyed taking trips with Ron and camping. Most of all she loved her family and her friends.Linda was employed as a medical secretary with the former Lynn Hospital for 25 years. She was a medical secretary for the Lynn Visiting Nurse Association for five years until her retirement.In addition to her husband she is survived by her son, Scott J. Benedict of Lynn; her daughters, Stacey A. O'Keefe of Lynn and Karla A. O'Brien and her husband Charles of North Reading. She is the mother-in-law of the late Edward O'Keefe. She leaves her grandchildren, Ashley Farese of Lynn, Samantha L. Benedict of Ipswich, Brendan Farese of Lynn, Cassandra Benedict of Peabody, Kyle Farese of Lynn, Jack, Maggie, Karlie and Charles O'Brien, all of North Reading. She is the great grandmother of Abagail Farese. She also leaves a niece and a nephew, Cheryl and John MikulaService information: Her funeral will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 9 a.m. from the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. (Route 1A), Lynn followed by a funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church, Lynn at 10 a.m. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. The family prefers donations be made in lieu of flowers to go to the charity of your choice.
