Brevard, NC - Mary Jo Welch, 69, of Brevard, NC, passed away unexpectedly on September 1, in Robbinsville, NC.
Mary Jo was born in Lynn, MA, daughter of Paul Welch and Marie (Murphy) Welch. She was raised and educated in Lynn, a graduate of Lynn English High School. She went on to attend North Shore Community College, then went on to receive her master's degree from Cambridge College.
Throughout her career, she worked in Early Childhood Education, primarily as a Daycare Director.
She enjoyed traveling with her best friend, Lin, and was an avid animal lover especially her dogs.
She is survived her sisters Kathleen Henneberry and her husband Edward, Barbara Gannon and her husband Stephen; her nieces, Emily Gannon and Kate Henneberry, her best friend, Lin Cotton.
Service Information: Her memorial s service will be held on Monday, September 16 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Lynn at 10:30 am. 101 Forest Ave. Swampscott, MA. Followed by burial at St. Joseph's cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Labor of Love Transport Rescue, https://www.laboroflovetransportrescue.org
